Air Fryer Review After 6 Months

Air Fryer After 6 Months: The Good, the Bad, and the Crispy

I’ve had my air fryer for about 6 months now, and it’s been a pretty interesting ride. I was skeptical at first, but it’s become a staple in my kitchen, especially when I’m meal prepping for the week. With summer approaching and grilling season in full swing, I thought it was a good time to share my thoughts on what works and what doesn’t with this thing.

What it’s Good For

I’ve found that my air fryer is great for making crispy snacks like fries, chicken wings, and veggie sticks. It’s also been a lifesaver on busy nights when I need to cook up some frozen vegetables or reheat leftovers. I like that it’s relatively quick – most things take around 10-15 minutes to cook – and it’s easy to clean, which is a big plus. I’ve also been experimenting with cooking proteins like chicken breast and salmon, and it’s been a great way to add some variety to my meal prep.

  • Cooking time for frozen fries: 12 minutes
  • Cooking time for chicken breast: 15-18 minutes
  • Cost of air fryer: around $100

What it’s Not So Good For

One thing I’ve noticed is that the air fryer can be a bit finicky when it comes to cooking certain types of food. For example, I tried to make some roasted vegetables in it, but they ended up being a bit too crispy on the outside and undercooked on the inside. I’ve also found that it’s not great for cooking large quantities of food – if I’m making dinner for a group, I usually end up using my oven or stovetop instead. And let’s be real, the basket can be a bit of a pain to clean, especially if you’re cooking something messy like chicken wings.

Tips and Tricks

After using my air fryer for a while, I’ve picked up a few tips that make it easier to use. One thing I like to do is pat dry any excess moisture from the food before cooking – it helps get a crisper exterior. I also like to shake the basket halfway through cooking to make sure everything is cooked evenly. And if you’re looking for a good Mother’s Day gift for a cooking enthusiast, I’d definitely recommend an air fryer – it’s been a great addition to my kitchen, and I think it would be for anyone who likes to cook.

As we head into summer, I’m excited to see what other recipes I can come up with using my air fryer. Maybe I’ll even try making some grilled cheese sandwiches in it – who knows. What do you use your air fryer for?
