Kitchen Tools for Meal Prep

5 Kitchen Tools Worth Buying When You’re Just Starting Out

I’ve been meal prepping for a while now, and I’ve found that having the right tools makes a huge difference. As we head into spring, I’m excited to start cooking up some new recipes and enjoying them outdoors. When I first started out, I didn’t know what I needed, so I thought I’d share my top picks for kitchen tools that are worth investing in.

Essential Cookware

I’ve found that a good set of pots and pans is essential for any kitchen. I opted for a stainless steel set that cost around $100, and it’s been a great investment. I use them all the time, and they’re easy to clean. I also picked up a Dutch oven for around $50, which is perfect for slow-cooking recipes like stews and braises. It’s been a game-changer for my meal prep routine.

Some other essentials I like to have on hand include a silicone spatula, a wooden spoon, and a set of measuring cups. These are all relatively inexpensive, with the spatula and spoon costing around $5 each and the measuring cups around $10.

Kitchen Gadgets

I’ve also found that having a few key gadgets can make a big difference in the kitchen. I recently picked up a food processor for around $70, which has been a huge time-saver for tasks like chopping veggies and making sauces. I also use a slow cooker frequently, which cost around $30. It’s great for making big batches of food that I can portion out and refrigerate or freeze for later.

Some other gadgets I like to have on hand include a rice cooker and a grill pan. The rice cooker is great for making perfect rice every time, and it’s also good for cooking other grains like quinoa and lentils. The grill pan is perfect for making indoor “grilled” foods when the weather isn’t cooperating.

Storage and Organization

Once you’ve got your cookware and gadgets, you’ll need some way to store them. I use a kitchen cart to keep my pots and pans organized, and it’s also got some extra storage for utensils and gadgets. It cost around $50, which is a pretty good deal considering how much use I get out of it.

I also like to use glass containers for storing my meal prep. They’re airtight, so they keep my food fresh, and they’re also easy to clean. I picked up a set of 5 containers for around $20, which is a great value.

Now that I’ve got my kitchen set up, I’m excited to start cooking up some new spring-inspired recipes. What do you use for meal prep storage?
